I had a baby almost 2 months ago and i dont want to put him in daycare. My fiance and I can barely pay ourt bills with me not working anymore and my old job cant offer me the hours i can work. I was hoping that there was a good home based business that you don’t have to pay to start. surely somebody can suggest something that really works and isn’t just a scam. I’ve looked at a few opportunities, but they all have fees just to get the information, and I mean serious money, not just a few dollars a week. Anybody have any ideas?

Do not fall for online “work at home scams”! ost of them are illigitimate and they just endf up taking your money. Heres an idea though. You just had a baby and dont want to send it to day care so bring the day care to you. Get your certification from Red Cross for CPR and start you own day care working out of your home. Trust me, theres never a time when other parents dont need childcare and you can make really good money, and do it all right from home! Good luck, hope this was helpful!

Hi: Congratulations to you and your fiance on the birth of your child. I understand the frustration you must feel searching for legitamate work at home opportunities. I spent many hours with no real answers except much of what you mentioned in your question instead. Lots of fees, or some “you can’t fail” package you have to purchase today for $69.99 or something ridiulous like that AND it does not really explain how it works. When I did some research on some of these (Google has a resourse for checking out scams), they were not recommended. Anyway, I had my own business some time ago, and I know from experience that there must be SOME form of monetary investment (unfortunately). But please don’t be discouraged, sometimes a small investment is well worth the money. Anyway, I do have two suggestions for you. Both of which you can do at home with reasonable to exceptional monetary rewards for your efforts (depending on how much time you are able to invest). And you can easily work around your little one’s needs. The first is eBay, if you have a digital camera already then it will cost you nothing to start. There are tools to help decide what to sell, how to sell, etc. on the website it self. So, don’t believe the hype that you need the selling systems they advertise on the infomercials. The fees are quite reasonable, especially when you think of the expenses of starting a business, marketing, website set-up, email lists, etc. eBay even has some of these services available for users at no cost. Also, a new service they have allows you to sell for others and make a percentage on the sell. There’s a book by Skip McGrath called: Three Weeks to eBay Profits: Go from Beginner to Successful Seller in Less than a Month, is definitely worth the investment. I bought it and it was filled with great info and I’ve been selling on eBay for several years. Skip McGrath works for eBay itself and I had an opportunity to attend his seminar “the eBay University” and he knows his stuff. (No, I don’t work for eBay, I just really like it) If you do decide to do eBay, make sure you open a separate checking account and a separate email account. This way if anything should happen, like a hacker or something (although eBay is extremely safe, I’ve had no such problems) your household account is safe. Just call me overly cautious. Also, don’t forget Yahoo! auctions, I’ve only made purchases, (under my old yahoo account) but it’s easy to use and I’ve done some research and I like what I see. I’ll definitely be trying Yahoo! auctions for selling items in the future. The second suggesion that I have is direct sales. I know, MLM’s have a bad rep, but I also know that there are legitimate ones out there. I just stumbled up on one that’s really legit (I say stumbled up up on it because I looked so long and came across many I thought were questionabe). It does not cost hundreds to start (like many do), and when I do work it I make good money. I got started because I was looking for a good stable company. What I got was an education in direct sales. The truth is there are a lot of sleazy companies out there so DO YOUR RESEARCH! If you find something that meets your criteria then it can be well worth it. The company I chose is Shaklee, it is the oldest direct sells company in the US and one of the largest vitamin manufacturers in the US as well. The company was started by a doctor of divinity and bases its business deals on the highest of standards with a fifty year history. They are also known for their scientific research, guaranteed purity, and lifetime money back guarantee on all products. I know, all that sounds good, but the proof was in the products themselves, each and every one I’ve tried has been excellent, and that’s what sold me. The beauty of this is the startup is $19.95 (there are higher startup packages so there’s something for everyone) and you can do EVERYTHING on the website, sales, purchase, train, and more. I LOVE THIS BUSINESS! Oh yeah, if you do decide to do this business, the checks come regularly you never have to worry about not being paid. Also, my sister liked the products too and she is selling regularly, so even when I don’t, I get a small commission from her sales, how cool is that? So anyway, these are my suggestions because when I work on these businesses I do get paid. I’m sure you will be successful if you tried either one…or both, like I do. Hon what you are looking for is a job not a business. With a business there are always start up cost. I know this sounds gross but all you are gonna get to work from home is a phone actress.
