Is this a work at home scam?
October 23rd, 2008 | by admin |Gareth S asked:
I got a letter in the mail today offering me to work at home assembling “booklets” for a company, paying $10 a booklet. Im not sure if anyone else has received an offer like this, and I’m not completely sure if its legitimate or not. Its from a company called Royal Books and Cd’s, and their mailing address is P.O. Box 100789 , Fort Lauderdale, FL 33310
Has anyone heard anything about this? I tried Googling the business name and address and i couldn’t find anything. Usually when i receive something in the mail like this i google it and find out its a scam, although I couldnt find anything on this. The letter says to send a fully refundable $45 fee to register for the program, and thats the part that sounds sketchy. I’d love to work from my home for this kind of cash but most seem too good to be true. Can anyone help?

I have not had any experience with what you are talking about here…but it doesn’t sound too trustable. I have gone through lots of scams and I am sick of them, I finally found a place that works for me.
I have had a lot of success by just using my computer just a couple hours a day. All I do is complete a few surveys a day and it makes money for me. Things that seem too good to be true usually are, but this is not the case. You can’t make millions from this site, but you can make as much money as you put effort into it. Give it a shot, there’s nothing to lose and no start up costs.
Here’s the site:
Good luck! Let me know if you need any help.

It’s absolutely a scam. After doing some research on the internet I’ve come to this conclusion. I mean really though, how many booklets are you gonna have to make to actually have a profitable week? What are the costs associated with making the booklet? Why aren’t they doing this themselves and resorting to you?
Find a profitable business, one that has a BBB profile that is clean. One that allows for the potential to earn serious income, not $10 here and there. In the time that you spend making ‘booklet’s you could be building a wealthy and successful home based business. I just made $1,200 today, while at the beach with my family and friends. All because I set up my business to run for me, successfully.
Check it out if you would like

No reputable company will mass mail looking for employees and then ask you to pay a fee. There are companies that do offer this kind of work, and you can find them through a search on the web. Good companies will also want to check you out as well to make sure that YOU are reputable, just as any employer would do. This one probably just wants your money since they just ask for it up front.

I wouldn’t bother. If you could not find the name of this particular company via Google, that is a red flag already. Most work at home via mail is to me a scam unless I get some kind of binding agreement. As far as sending money to start this business, I would be very leary about this as well.

anywhere that asks you to send money for registering is usually a scam.
And yes I too look for details on any job I am interested in. If I cannot find any website or contact details, I do not respond.

First off I’d be cautious of any place that has a P.O. Box and asks for a check. There are a lot of scams from home. I personally have tried several especially processing rebates. You can find profitable work from home but no one is going to pay you real money to do surveys, stuff envelopes, etc. You can say what you want but if you want a business that is yours from home not working for some one else you should check out Ameriplan. They aren’t scam artists been around 16 years! Real deal.
