This sounds like a good topic for helping others avoid making the same mistakes you have made.
Although its not data entry per se, my mother does medical transcription from home and really enjoys it. She did have to take a course for it.

There probably are some out there, but stay away from the companies that deal directly with the internet. Try contacting your local employment agencies and see what they have for data entry jobs in your area. Maybe you can contact those companies and work out a deal to work from home. At least you know its legit.

First, you never have to pay to get employed.
The best way to work from home is to get a real job from a real company with offices and where you’ll be working from your house. But sometimes you’ll get at the office for meetings, etc. Got it ?
Many people are claiming they are doing money on the web. And it’s true.
How ?
- they know how to build websites
- they have exclusive content on their sites
- they have a solid relationship with at least one well-known company. (Yahoo, Microsoft, Google, Ask, DoubleClick, Bidvertiser, Commission junction, Ebay, PayPal, HP, IBM…)
- they are able to bring thousands of visitors to their websites.
- they are commited to their websites 10 hours a day
We call them webmasters. Most of them are earning just enough to pay the rent, some of them are making millions.
There you go to be one :
